Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If outside isn't an option where do you photograph?
A: If you don't want to photograph outside, no worries! I can come to you. I offer this because many people who hire me have newborns, or young children. When I come to you, kids tend to be more comfortable. They are in a familiar place and tend to give more genuine smiles and be less nervous. My backdrop and light set up takes usually less than 10 minutes, and I can fit my setup in most living rooms/ den areas. If this is something you are not comfortable with, you can always come to my home. I have a dedicated room to my home studio and it is a kid friendly environment. I want my clients to be comfortable wherever we choose to do the shoot.
Q: Do you have any props?
A: Yes! I have lots of props to choose from. Before the shoot we can talk about what you are looking for in the pictures and I can go over what I have to fit that description. I have a few child size stools, false flowers, baskets, wings, hats, headbands, wraps, necklace, banners, etc.
Q: What type of backdrops do you have?
A: I have several backdrops to choose from. Depending on the type of sitting we are doing, I have different sizes and options. When we talk about your session before hand we will discuss what the group/ child will be wearing and I will be making suggestions and choosing based on that information.
Q: I want newborn photos, how soon will you come to photograph?
A: I have experience photographing newborns in hospitals as early has 4 hrs after delivery. If you wish for me to come to your hospital room to photograph I can. I have photographed hundreds of babies in hospital rooms, and have plenty of skill to make the photos look natural. If you prefer, you can wait up to 14 days to have me come to your home (or you come to my home studio) to do the photographs.
Q: What is the latest I can get newborn photos?
A: Newborn photos are classified as such because newborns are so content in almost any pose. At that age their features change so fast and frequently, we don't want to lose that newborn look. I don't consider them newborn unless they are less than 14 days old.
Q: What do your packages include?
A: My packages include the time that I am there, a password protected online gallery and the ability to download all your photos in high resolution. You will also receive in your gallery a print release. This means that as the owner of Pink Birdie Portraits, I do still own these images, but you ARE allowed to print them at full resolution. I also offer prints and specialty products upon request for additional prices. If you have more questions about print release verses copyright release please message me! I would be more than happy to explain it to you.
Q: I am worried my Baby or Toddler may be difficult during the session and take up most of the time trying to comfort him/her. What happens if we don't get enough pictures?
A: As a mother to a toddler myself I understand completely that sometimes little ones just act up. I want you to be happy with our photos so I will be sure to get enough photos for your gallery, even if that requires us needing to reschedule at a time where your little one is happier. My packages do have time frames but I am always a little flexible if the problem is a fussy little one.
